Brief Description The company makes electro-optical components used in high-tech and medical products. It straddles four fields: Eye Care sells vision care products, lenses and eyeglasses, and health care supplies, including intraocular lenses for cataract surgery. Life Care (Pentax) focuses on medical endoscopic tools, and Imaging Systems produces optical components and SLR/compact digital cameras. Within its Information Technology segment, Electro-Optics makes mask blanks and photomasks for semiconductor devices and LCD panels, digital camera optical lenses, and glass substrate used in HDDs, as well as photonics (laser equipment, light sources for electronics, and optical glass).
