GE Energy, , a leading supplier of power generation technology, energy services and energy management systems, is a subsidiary of General Electric and is headquartered in Atlanta, USA. GE serves the energy sector by developing and deploying technology that helps make efficient use of natural resources. GE Wind Energy is a branch of GE Energy, a subsidiary of General Electric. The company manufactures and sells wind turbines to the international market. In 2009, GE was the second largest wind turbine manufacturer in the world.

GE´s Wind Business started in May 2002 and today it has production facilities in Germany, China, and the USA. It employs more than 3.200 people, of which about 800 work at the company's European headquarters in Salzbergen. Its product and services portfolio includes wind turbines with rated capacities between 1.5 to 4 megawatt as well as project management, support services and maintenance. Worldwide, more than 16.000 turbines are installed by GE Wind Energy.
